Twin Vee Unveils New Power Catamaran Line

Twin Vee Introduces the GFX2 Powercat Line

Twin Vee Powercat of Fort Pierce, Florida has announced the GFX2 model line, a second-generation update to its popular GFX catamarans. Inspired by the success of the flagship 400 GFX, the GFX2 series refines the proven hull design and introduces enhanced electronics, upgraded materials, and practical refinements aimed at anglers and cruisers who want a comfortable, capable multi-hull platform.

“The hull is proven,” says Preston Yarborough, Vice President and Director of Product Development at Twin Vee. “The lifting strakes, reverse chine and twin hull design, with just enough air induction between the hulls to aerate the water, give Twin Vee cats a super soft entry, no slamming and minimal sneezing.” This established hull geometry is carried forward into the GFX2 line, preserving the ride qualities that owners value while enabling other modern upgrades.

The GFX2 models were developed in partnership with engineer Greg McLogan, and one notable change is a fully integrated digital control system that modernizes vessel management without altering the familiar visual profile of the boats. Twin Vee has committed to producing all future molds using 5-Axis CNC router technology, a move that improves surface accuracy and repeatability in production molds and helps maintain consistent fit and finish across the lineup.

At the heart of the reimagined helm is a “command center” concept that centers control and information on a 24-inch multifunction display. Digital switching and a dedicated phone app are standard components of the new system, simplifying operation of lighting, pumps, live wells and other onboard systems. Optional electronic upgrades are extensive and include FLIR thermal imaging, a fish-finding transducer package, autonomous navigation features and a Rhodan HD GPS Anchor+ trolling motor for precise station-keeping.

Ergonomics and comfort receive a noticeable boost on the GFX2. The helm features a tempered glass windshield and a redesigned T-top supported by D-shaped aluminum uprights. Seating is upgraded throughout with sport-stitched patterns for a modern look and improved durability. Bow seating includes removable forward-facing backrests that convert easily for fishing or lounging, while the helm and deck layouts emphasize clear sightlines and accessible storage.

Fishing-focused improvements are evident across the series. The GFX2 adds more rod holders, expanded tackle storage, and larger deck fish boxes. Recirculating live wells have increased capacity—up to 50 gallons on the smaller models and as much as 100 gallons on the 40-foot model—while fuel tanks have been enlarged to extend cruising and trolling range. For additional cockpit flexibility, the transom corner jump seats are designed to flip up when more working space is required.

Twin Vee recommends twin outboards from Mercury, Yamaha, or Suzuki, with final horsepower selections tailored to each owner’s intended use, whether long-range fishing runs or relaxed coastal cruising. Depending on the chosen power package, owners can specify electric or electric-hydraulic steering; joystick controls are available as an option for precise, low-speed maneuvering and docking.

The GFX2 line represents an evolution rather than a reinvention—retaining the core hull characteristics that define Twin Vee’s ride quality while introducing contemporary electronics, manufacturing precision, and user-focused enhancements. These updates are intended to make the boats easier to operate, more comfortable for extended days on the water, and better equipped for serious anglers who value both function and finish.
