Palm Beach Motor Yachts has introduced an exciting new family of high-performance luxury boats: the GT RS series. Designed to blend thrilling performance with refined onboard comfort, the lineup comprises three models—the flagship 79-foot Palm Beach GT70 RS, the 68-foot GT60 RS and the 56-foot GT50 RS—each aimed at owners who expect speed, refinement and smart layout solutions for entertaining and extended cruising.
Founder, CEO and lead designer Mark Richards emphasizes the company’s priorities: “We will never compromise on performance and a superior ride,” he says. “With every boat we build, we prove that both of these attributes can co-exist easily when the design and build process are flawless. That’s what excites me every day.” The GT RS series is a clear expression of that philosophy: aggressive, modern styling married to considered ergonomics and seaworthy hull engineering.
At the heart of the series is Palm Beach’s proprietary V-Warp hull technology. Beyond its lightweight construction, the V-Warp shape is characterized by a fine entry, a graceful curvature amidships and a minimal deadrise at the transom. Those attributes are intended to produce a smooth, confident ride in a range of conditions while helping the yachts get onto plane efficiently and maintain stability at speed.
Each GT RS model is arranged with a galley-down layout to port, deliberately reserving the main deck as a social hub for hosting family and guests. The GT50 and GT60 feature L-shaped galley countertops, while the larger GT70 upgrades to a C-shaped countertop to expand preparation space and workflow. This configuration keeps service out of the main entertaining areas while providing a functional, well-appointed galley for owners and crews.
The pilothouse design on all three models centers on a two-seat helm station to starboard accompanied by companion seating to port. Cockpit areas are focused on forward-facing comfort, with L-shaped settees that encourage conversation and views when anchored or underway. These seating plans reflect Palm Beach’s desire to balance sporty driving ergonomics with relaxed social spaces.
Accommodation layouts vary by model to match each yacht’s scale. On the GT70 RS, the full-beam, amidships master stateroom features a king-sized berth on centerline and a sofa to starboard, with a generous head forward and to starboard whose countertop extends the full length of the space. The GT60 locates its master stateroom to starboard with the head positioned forward, while the GT50’s primary stateroom sits in the forepeak with the head aft and to starboard—each layout optimized for comfort and privacy.
Power options underline the performance focus of the GT RS series. The GT70 RS can be specified with triple Volvo Penta IPS1350 drives rated at 1,000 hp each, offering the efficiency and drivability associated with Volvo Penta’s pod systems. The GT60 RS is planned to be propelled by quad Mercury V12 600-hp outboards, and the GT50 RS will be available with quad Mercury Racing V8 500-hp outboards. Exact performance figures have not been released, but the propulsion packages are chosen to deliver brisk acceleration and strong cruising capability consistent with the series’ sporty intent.
While technical performance numbers are pending, market interest is already evident: the first GT50 RS has been sold to an owner who plans to use the boat to commute between offices in Connecticut and New York City—an owner intent on making those passages, as the builder put it, “a lot more fun.” With roughly two thousand horsepower driving the GT50 RS, the commute promises to be fast and entertaining.
