11th Hour Racing Wins Third Straight in The Ocean Race

11th Hour Racing Team Holds Off Holcim-PRB in Close Finish from Aarhus to The Hague

In a dramatic Leg 6 of the IMOCA circuit, 11th Hour Racing Team, skippered by Charlie Enright, claimed their third consecutive victory in a tight contest that ran from Aarhus, Denmark, to The Hague, The Netherlands. The American entry crossed the line with Team Holcim-PRB pressing hard in pursuit, but Enright and his crew managed to preserve a narrow lead and secure the win.

Enright described the finish as nerve‑wracking: “Even when the other guys kept coming into us from behind, I think we just thought we were not gonna let them win that way,” he said. His words underline how fiercely contested the final miles were, with several teams jockeying for position and every tactical decision carrying heavy weight. The victory continues 11th Hour Racing Team’s strong run of form and consolidates their position at the top of the leaderboard after six legs.

The racecourse proved to be demanding and unpredictable. Multiple teams — including Holcim‑PRB, Team Malizia, Biotherm, and GUYOT Environnement — demonstrated strong boat speed, smart routing and resilient crew work to make the leg an exciting spectacle for fans in The Hague. The organizers and sailors faced a mix of tactical challenges that tested sail selection, upwind and downwind techniques, and in‑race decision making.

Team Holcim‑PRB ultimately finished a close second to 11th Hour Racing Team. Their push near the finish kept pressure on the leaders right up to the final moments and highlighted the depth of competition within the IMOCA fleet. In third place, Team Malizia — sailing with a Dutch crew member aboard for this leg — received a royal welcome in The Hague, greeted by King Willem‑Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands upon arrival. Their appearance ashore underscored the public interest and national support for the event.

Biotherm secured fourth place after a consistent performance across the leg, demonstrating tactical discipline and steady speed. Rounding out the top five, Team GUYOT Environnement — racing under the Team Europe banner — claimed fifth, continuing to build experience and points in the series.

The IMOCA class will keep the action going with an in‑port race scheduled in The Hague on June 13th. In‑port races offer a different skill set and the chance for teams to sharpen maneuvers, startline tactics and close quarters boat handling in front of shore‑side spectators. With the championship tight, every format and every point will matter as the campaign progresses.
