Tiara 3100 Coronet Yacht: Specs, Features and Review

Tiara 3100 Coronet: A Timeless Day-Boat with Modern Detail

Some boats possess an enduring aesthetic, and Tiara’s 3100 Coronet is a strong example. With a low-slung profile, diamond-pattern non-skid walking surfaces and broad side decks, the Coronet recalls many of the styling cues that made earlier Tiara models so distinctive. Company CEO David Slikkers notes that the design intentionally revisits those classic characteristics while combining them with contemporary amenities.

I viewed the 3100 Coronet at the Miami International Boat Show earlier this year. It’s clearly focused on day boating and social cruising: the cockpit is arranged for comfortable entertaining, with generous seating and an entertainment center on the starboard side that comes standard. That center includes an electric grill, a sink and a drawer-style refrigerator, making it easy to prepare and serve food without leaving the cockpit.

The cockpit layout promotes conversation and sightlines. L-shaped seats on both port and starboard sides wrap toward two aft-facing seats, creating a natural gathering area for family and guests. For alfresco dining, the companion lounge on the bridge deck features a standard teak table, and owners can choose an optional teak table for the cockpit to match the style and warmth of the other wood accents.

Below deck the Coronet remains practical and well organized for overnight stays or extended day trips. The cabin includes a galley to starboard, a head and shower to port, a cedar-lined hanging locker and a forward berth. The layout is compact but functional, designed to provide comfort without sacrificing the boat’s primary role as a day-boat and social platform.

At 36 feet, 5 inches overall length the boat includes a 40-inch swim platform with an integrated ladder and a bow pulpit. Beam measures 12 feet, 6 inches, and the builder applies diamond-pattern non-skid across walking areas, including the side decks, to enhance grip and safety when moving around the boat.

Tiara’s helms are known for their fit-and-finish, and the 3100 Coronet follows that tradition. The helm console offers ample room for electronics, and it hinges aft to give straightforward access to wiring and connections. An optional 16-inch teak steering wheel elevates the feel toward a yacht-like aesthetic, while the standard stainless wheel and a dark, low-glare dash improve sightlines and reduce reflections through the protective windshield. These are small details that underscore Tiara’s attention to ergonomics and long-term ownership experience.

Performance is provided by twin Crusader 375-hp gas inboards, a power choice that yields a reported cruising speed of about 29 mph with a top end near 40 mph. The Coronet draws 2 feet, 8 inches and carries 210 gallons of fuel in a composite tank, supporting extended cruising range for day outings or coastal runs.

The base price for the Coronet with the Crusader power package is listed at $261,500. Standard features include a windlass, trim tabs, bronze seacocks, a solid teak sole and a hot-and-cold cockpit shower. Owners can select from popular options such as a hardtop with sunroof ($17,500) or a more modest canvas top ($3,450); a galley refrigerator ($1,900); a 5-kW gas generator ($15,195); and air conditioning ($4,660). These choices allow buyers to tailor the boat to their cruising style and climate needs.
