Beneteau has introduced the Swift Trawler 35, a clean-sheet replacement for the Swift Trawler 34. Scheduled to make its U.S. debut at the United States Powerboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland, this October, the Swift Trawler 35 presents a fresh design direction for the series while staying true to the trawler-yacht concept that made its predecessor popular.

The 35’s exterior takes on a more European aesthetic than the 34, trading some of the older model’s utilitarian, “salty” cues for softer edges and more flowing lines. The result is a yacht that reads as both elegant and purposeful—modernized without abandoning the practical, comfortable cruising character that owners expect from a Swift Trawler.

Underway, Beneteau continues to rely on a single 425-hp Cummins QSB6.7 six-cylinder diesel engine. Full performance figures were not available at press time, but Beneteau anticipates overall speeds in line with the 34: roughly 20 knots at top end and a comfortable cruise between 10 and 15 knots. Those numbers make the 35 well suited to coastal passages and relaxed long-range cruising where efficiency and seakeeping are priorities.

One of the most notable upgrades is the convertible transom that links the aft cockpit and swim platform through a pair of nearly full-width folding transom doors. This design increases usable cockpit volume and improves access to the water for swimming, diving, tender handling, or boarding from a dock. The greater integration between cockpit and swim platform encourages a more connected onboard lifestyle, ideal for owners who value alfresco living and easy water access.

Inside, the Swift Trawler 35 benefits from increased glazing in the main saloon, improving natural light and sightlines and giving the interior a more open, contemporary feel. The styling is more modern than the 34’s, with softer joinery lines and updated finishes that aim to balance comfort with clean, current aesthetics. The galley and saloon arrangement will feel familiar to owners of the previous model but with refinements focused on ergonomics and onboard comfort.

The 35’s accommodation plan shown here is a two-stateroom layout optimized for cruising couples or small families. The owner’s stateroom occupies the bow and features an island berth that maximizes access and comfort. A guest cabin with bunk-style berths is located abaft the master on the port side, useful for children or crew. Both staterooms are served by a single enclosed head and shower to starboard.

The main saloon layout will be recognizably Swift Trawler to those familiar with the 34. The galley sits forward to port with a bank of storage lockers immediately aft, keeping provisions and gear close at hand. A dinette aft of the lower helm converts to an extra berth when needed, providing flexible sleeping arrangements without compromising daytime living space.

Overall, the Swift Trawler 35 aims to refine the recipe of comfort, efficiency and practicality that defines the line. With a familiar, single-engine propulsion package, updated styling, and practical features such as the convertible transom and expanded glazing, it will appeal to owners who want a modern trawler experience—one that balances easy handling and livable accommodations with the ability to cover ground at sensible cruising speeds.
