Raymarine Launches YachtSense: Yacht Automation Ecosystem

Raymarine Unveils YachtSense Ecosystem for Complete Onboard and Remote Integration

Raymarine has introduced the YachtSense Ecosystem, a comprehensive connectivity platform designed to integrate all devices on a vessel’s network and provide secure access both aboard and remotely. The system is intended to give owners and captains the ability to monitor, control, and receive important alerts for their boat before, during, and after a voyage, consolidating navigation, systems control and status monitoring into a single solution.

Three-Tiered Connectivity: App, Router and Digital Switching

The YachtSense Ecosystem delivers three levels of connectivity to suit different needs: a mobile app for smartphones and tablets, the YachtSense Link marinized mobile router, and the YachtSense Digital Switching System, which Raymarine introduced in December 2020. Together, these elements create a unified network that links Raymarine displays, onboard electronics and wireless devices for flexible, secure control.

The YachtSense mobile app allows users to stream and operate Raymarine Axiom multifunction displays from a phone or tablet, even when away from the vessel. The app also supports secure transfer and backup of important navigation data—such as waypoints, tracks and photos—directly to a mobile device, simplifying data recovery and voyage planning.

YachtSense Link: Marinized Router with 4G and GPS

At the center of the system sits the YachtSense Link mobile router, a fully marinized, ruggedized unit that brings together dockside Wi‑Fi, onboard Wi‑Fi, RayNet Ethernet and 4G mobile broadband into a single, managed network. With built‑in GPS and 4G broadband capability, YachtSense Link enables remote connections to NMEA 2000 (NMEA 2K) devices and supports advanced features such as geofencing and location-based alerts.

By joining disparate networks—shore internet, onboard wireless devices and Raymarine network infrastructure—YachtSense Link makes it straightforward to integrate tablets, smart TVs, multifunction displays and other connected equipment into a reliable, unified system for both data traffic and control commands.

Remote Monitoring, Alerts and Systems Control

Once installed, the YachtSense Ecosystem enables remote monitoring of virtually every aspect of the vessel’s systems. Owners and captains can receive alerts when the boat leaves a predefined safety zone, view real‑time instrument and navigation data, and remotely command electrical systems and onboard equipment. Typical controllable systems include lighting, pumps, sunshades, window blinds and HVAC.

In addition to control, YachtSense supports condition monitoring: smoke and CO alarms, bilge water sensors, tank levels, battery voltages and shore power status can all be watched remotely. These capabilities provide situational awareness that helps prevent damage, conserve battery life, and enable faster response when a problem arises.

Target Vessels and Availability

Raymarine is positioning YachtSense for networked vessels 35 feet and larger. The company announced that the system would be officially launched in early 2022, complementing the existing YachtSense Digital Switching hardware introduced in late 2020. YachtSense is intended to serve both owner‑operators and professional crews who need reliable, centralized access to navigation data and onboard systems from mobile devices and multifunction displays.

Benefits and Use Cases

  • Remote peace of mind: Get instant alerts if the vessel moves, power is lost, or water is detected in the bilge.
  • Unified connectivity: Combine Wi‑Fi, cellular and RayNet Ethernet into one managed network for stable onboard and remote access.
  • Data security and backups: Transfer and store crucial waypoint and track data to mobile devices as a backup.
  • System automation and convenience: Control lighting, climate, pumps and shades from shore or while onboard via the app or Axiom displays.
  • Professional readiness: Ideal for charter operators and captains who need reliable remote monitoring and rapid response capabilities.

With YachtSense, Raymarine aims to simplify boat management by offering an integrated ecosystem that links navigation, electrical control and remote monitoring into one cohesive platform. For owners and captains of networked vessels, the system promises improved situational awareness, more efficient vessel management, and greater convenience whether at the dock or miles offshore.
